Tim comes to WSG with more than 23 years of experience in Federal law enforcement. In 1996, Tim joined the FBI as an investigative specialist with the Special Surveillance Group (SSG) in the New York Field Office conducting various surveillance of espionage and terrorist targets in the United States.
In 1999, Tim joined the United States Secret Service as a Special Agent with the Miami Field Office. While in Miami, Tim began his investigative career with the Access Device Squad and then the Counterfeit Squad. In 2000, Tim became one of the five original members of the Miami Field Office’s Electronic Crimes of Violence Task Force, the predecessor to the Miami Electronic Crimes Task Force (MECTF). While with MECTF, Tim specialized in Internet Crimes Against Children and was a certified computer forensic agent (ECSAP). During his tenure with MECTF, Tim conducted many complex undercover Internet child exploitation investigations. Tim was also a task force officer with the Miami Beach Police Department’s Special Victims Unit and was the case agent for US v. Williams, 553 U.S. 285 (2008), a United States Supreme Court case affirming the legality of the federal child pornography pandering statute. Additionally, Tim has served in an assorted number of USSS protective operations and advance team assignments with the various entities statutory covered by the USSS, including the President and Vice President of the United States, visiting foreign heads of state, the United Nations General Assembly in New York, designated National Security Events, Presidential Debates, and Presidential campaigns.
In 2008, Tim was transferred from the Miami Field Office to the newly created George W. Bush Protection Detail (GBD), in Dallas, Texas. While assigned to GBD, Tim and fellow agents were charged with the physical protection of former President George W. Bush, and his wife, Former First Lady Laura Bush, and their residences in Dallas, Texas, and Crawford, Texas. As part of a smaller protective detail, Tim was required to work as a part of the shift, command post and residential security responsibilities, mountain bike team member, and motorcade driving duties.
Since October of 2010, Tim has been a Special Agent with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in SAC Miami. Tim has continued to specialize in Internet Crimes Against Children, worked collateral protective duties with the USSS at the United Nations General Assembly, and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
